Psychotherapy (or "talk therapy") refers to working with a mental health professional to address your thoughts, emotions and behaviour in service of your personal goals. It can be used to address specific mental health diagnoses or as a tool to improve one's general well-being.

A standard psychotherapy session is 50 minutes.

An eclectic approach combining different therapy styles is used to best suit your needs, strengths and preferences. Our therapy practice is rooted in the following theories: Person-centered therapy, Feminist therapy, Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (CBT) and Trauma-informed therapy.

Sierra (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist.

She believes the painful or confusing parts of life are what connect us and make us human. Her own experiences have taught her that our burdens are easier to carry when we feel accepted, supported and empowered. Together you can unpack what’s been challenging you and find a way forward.

She was drawn to this work because she knows what it feels like to need support and not know where to turn. With this in mind, she works hard to ensure that her services are affordable and flexible to your needs.

Sierra uses an eclectic approach to psychotherapy. Her style is rooted in narrative therapy, feminist therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and more.

She has a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelors of Science (Honours) in Biology & Psychology from Queen’s University. She has completed extensive work in peer support, adult mental health and community outreach.
